Subway melodrama

Subway melodrama

This is what a friend witnessed this morning: On a subway train, an old man in his late 70s asked a seated girl to give him her seat. The girl refused and said, "I have to work the whole day and I would feel tired too. You should stay at home at rush hours." The old man then asked a young man sitting next to her and the young man gave him his seat.

After being seated, the old man scolded the girl and the girl refuted, "You should appreciate the help when someone offers his seat, but you have no right to blame me!" They exchanged harsh words and the old man hit the girl on her back several times in his rage. The girl threatened to call the police but got off eventually. The old man weeped for quite a while afterwards.

i think this kind of thing will not happen in other countries (especially western countries), young people should offer their seat to old, pregnant, baby or someone need help, this is a unique rule in China... the rule itself should be regard as a good tradition, but someone take it as granted...that's why the young girl refuse to offer her seat
