Greek transport workers embark on another 24-hour strike

Workers of practically all forms of transport in Greece have announced a 24-hour strike Thursday in protest against wage cuts to save money.
Trains and passenger ferries are at a standstill across the country.

In Athens buses, trolleys and urban rail are not operating for 24-hours.

At the same time, the subway and trams are still functioning in the Greek capital – home to over a third of the entire population of the country.

Last week the government invoked constitutional law to end a 10-day transport strike, declaring compulsory civil mobilization. Now the engine drivers and service personnel of the subway and trams are forced to work or face arrest.
