Two soldiers guarding S.Korean presidential residence desert: report

South Korea's military and police confirmed today that two soldiers standing guard outside the Cheong Wa Dae, the executive office and official residence of the president, deserted army yesterday afternoon, Yonhap reported.

They were believed to be not armed. South Korean military said they fled for personal reasons.

It is reported that the two soldiers belong to Seoul’s Defense Command, which is in charge of security of Cheong Wa Dae.
