Britain to withdraw 3.8 thousand troops from Afghanistan

Britain's Ministry of Defense intends to withdraw 3.8 thousand troops from Afghanistan in autumn.

According to the deputy commander of international forces in the country, British Lt. Gen. Nick Carter, the militants are particularly active in the summer, which is why the forces will spend that period stationed there.

In December, Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron said that by the end of 2013 the number of British officers and soldiers in Afghanistan will be reduced from 9 to 5.2 thousand people. However, he failed to mention a more precise timetable for troop withdrawal.
